About Us
Desert Divers Scuba Center grew out of a simple realization: Flaming Gorge is one of the most extraordinary dive destinations in the American West, and the people of Green River deserved a home base that understood it.
We're a PADI Five-Star Dive Center — not because we needed the badge, but because the standards match what we already believed: every student deserves patience, every piece of gear deserves respect, and every dive deserves to be planned with care.
Whether you're a local looking for your first breath underwater or an experienced diver chasing the sapphire depths of the gorge, we're here. No pretense. Just honest diving with people who care about the water.

The Dive Site
Flaming Gorge Reservoir sits 5,700 feet above sea level at the border of Utah and Wyoming. Its water — fed by mountain snowmelt — stays at a steady 38–44°F year-round and delivers visibility often exceeding 80 feet.
The underwater landscape is unlike anything else in the region: submerged canyons carved by ancient rivers, vertical drop-offs draped in freshwater sponges, and timber that rises from the bottom like cathedral pillars. Fish here include trout, kokanee, and the occasional largemouth that seems genuinely surprised to see you.
Winter dives require a drysuit. Summer dives are doable in a 3mm shorty — if you're brave. We provide exposure protection, tanks, and weights, and we lead the way.
